An art exhibition with works by Jean Luc Godard, Robert Frank and Dieter Roth.

The Cafard art exhibition brought together three great melancholics of Swiss origin: Jean-Luc Godard, Robert Frank and Dieter Roth. Cafard was a tribute to three extraordinary masters of tristesse who had explored the human condition without false taboos while maintaining the highest personal integrity. The cineaste Godard, together with Anne-Marie Miéville, realised a new film for the Arteplage Mobile du Jura entitled Liberté et Patrie, Frank was represented with a new video and photo installation specially created for the Arteplage Mobile du Jura entitled Coming Home, Leaving Home. The video installation Solo Szenen by the artist Dieter Roth, who died in 1998, was shown.

A tribute to Ramuz's fictional novel hero, the painter Aimé Pache, who travels back and forth between Vaud and Paris. A fictional biography is told in a sequence of landscape shots and landscape paintings, philosophical and poetic reflections and ideas. A conciliatory, calm and ironic film that plays on different levels with fiction and the director's own biography.
