This performance centres less on the suicide of the brilliant journalist Niklaus Meienberg than on the fact that an intellectual of his stature and importance is suddenly perceived as no longer relevant, no longer contemporary: as an outdated model, as he described himself. The play continues the political discourse about this controversial and non-conformist personality as a theatrical grotesque. It makes topical cross-references, is excessive and garish, it polemicises and provokes.
