A Raft by the Dutch Atelier van Lieshout collective (founded in 1995 by Joep van Lieshout) is moored in the harbour of Biel-Bienne and represents the free state in Rotterdam harbour. The floating platform comprises all essential infrastructural elements: a defence line, slaughter block and sanitary facilities, all of them lovingly executed in skilled craftsmanship by the Dutch collective. An example of peaceable, state-tolerated separatism.
