Classical music

Classical music played an important role at Expo.02, with works from the Baroque and Renaissance periods as well as commissioned works by young contemporary composers being performed: from soloists to string quartets to symphony orchestras, from acoustic to avant-garde technologies in instrument making. The centre of classical music was Jean Nouvel's Tente Centenaire. Here, listeners found ideal acoustic conditions. But concerts in the streets, squares, churches and in Murten Town Hall also contributed to a special musical magic.
