The exhibition and life
Exhibitions are not life. But they have to do with it. This also applies to Swiss national exhibitions, and Expo.02 is no exception. The long, tangled and painful history of its creation is a mirror of Switzerland as it lives and breathes. Hesitation, courage, stubbornness, pragmatism and small-mindedness: many things are expressed in it that make up everyday life in our country. Yet the national exhibition itself is far more than this mirror. It is a narrative that takes the liberty of interpreting life and letting it shine through in images, spaces and moods - in order to provoke experiences and insights and to give a future to what is.
