Inbetweens: Art and other projects
In addition to exhibitions in the classical sense, there are also projects that stand between art and event, the so-called Inbetweens.
According to the ideas of its first Directrice Artistique, Pipilotti Rist, Expo.01 should have been nothing less than a total work of art. But Martin Heller was able to carry some of this over into the more pragmatic Expo.02.
The Direction Artistique engaged various curators to give contemporary art a presence at Expo.02. However, there was no actual budget available, so they had to improvise. Nevertheless, the interventions on the five Arteplages have an astonishing presence.
