Every year, between 40 and 50 young musicians gather in Sometan, a small village in the Bernese Jura, to take part in the international orchestra course organised by the Jeunesses Musicales of Switzerland. The Jeunesses Musicales of Switzerland symphony orchestra is formed there every year. One of the four symphony concerts at the end of the 2002 course took place as a guest performance at Expo.02.
