The medical stations at Expo.02 ensured that medical services were available to visitors and relieved the hospitals in the region around the national exhibition of as many simple treatments as possible.

Those suspected of having vital function disorders were treated on site by doctors and nursing staff, stabilised where possible and taken to a clinic by the public ambulance service. Surgical cases that could not be treated conclusively on site were also treated and transferred to a hospital.

During Expo.02, a total of 25'000 patients were treated by the medical service Expo.02.

All specialists, doctors, nursing professionals and station managers employed as part of the medical service were hired by the Swiss Samaritan Federation for the duration of the assignment.

Medical stations
A medical station was set up at each Arteplage. The army provided the Swiss Samaritan Federation with medical containers at the Arteplages.

Vehicles
On the large Arteplages, the Samaritans had bicycles at their disposal, while on the other Arteplages they had kick scooters. All were equipped with a box on the luggage rack containing a defibrillator, resuscitation bag and wound care materials.
