The exhibition conveyed lasting impressions of the central activities, values and concerns of the UN: Firstly, the global character of the UN was symbolically illustrated. The exhibition then picked out three specific examples of the UN's impressive commitment from the multitude of issues that are relevant to global security:

• It was shown what a central role the rights of children - to health, education or protection from violence - play in the development of all countries.
• In the area of humanitarian aid, visitors were given an insight into the UN's commitment to refugees and learnt what it is like to be registered as a refugee.
• From the UN's environmental agenda, the exhibition took up the topic of water - as a precious commodity that is just as important for development and prosperity as it is as a security factor with regard to the peaceful coexistence of different user groups and countries.
